About Me

I began my career in the building industry in 1981 as a part-time handy man for Lee S. Wilbur Boat Builders of Southwest Harbor Maine. From 1981 to 1986, I worked for Eric Henry Construction as a carpenter's helper. I attribute my early focus and attention to detail to Eric's direct tutelage.

In 1986, I relocated with my family to the Southeast Ohio region. I continued working as a carpenter in the Columbus area for Riverglen Builders and Matrka Master Renovator & Builder doing both high end residential and light commercial remodels. In addition, I began developing my own customers in and around Southeast Ohio, including Glen Laurel Inn, Lake Hope State Park Lodge, Niches Retreat Center, and Jorma Kaukonen's Fur Peace Ranch.

In the late 1990s, I was recruited out of the remodeling industry by Marble & Granite Works, a new stone fabrication company in Columbus. There, I developed a waterproof and highly accurate countertop templating system while managing the growth of the templating department from two to thirteen full-time templaters in three years' time. Additionally, I helped create the volume and accuracy needed to encourage the eventual purchase of the company by The Lowe's Corporation. After a four year stint in the stone fabrication industry, I relocated to my hometown of Dayton, Ohio where I started DeAloia Design/Build. I grew DeAloia Design/Build between 2002 and 2008 and in the summer of 2009 incorporated the business and renamed it The Solutionist Remodeling and Restaurant Services, Inc. Today our mission statement is to find creative solutions to all your remodeling and maintenance needs. We strive to maintain the quality and integrity of a small family owned business.

As president of the company, I will oversee all aspects of your project and see to it that our first project for you will not be our last. In addition to my many wonderful residential customers, I maintain working relationships with Requarth Lumber, Ruby Tuesday Restaurants, Five Rivers Metro Parks and the Stone Center.
